Insufficient onboarding can put the lives of participants and staff at risk, in fact in can put your entire business at risk!

Effective NDIS participant and staff onboarding is about much more than completing forms. It is the foundation for safe, person-centred supports, effective risk management and quality service delivery.

This practical NDIS Participant & Staff Onboarding training shows providers and managers how to build an onboarding process that gathers the right information, explains participant rights and responsibilities, identifies risk, supports choice and control, and creates clear plans for service delivery.

The training also takes you through staff recruitment, screening, induction, training and ongoing support so you can demonstrate that workers have the knowledge, skills and information they need before providing supports.

Done well, onboarding helps providers understand the whole person — their goals, preferences, communication needs, risks and support requirements — while giving workers the information they need to provide safe, consistent and outcome-focused supports.

Participants may be asked to share deeply personal information about their disability, history, risks and support needs during onboarding. This training explores how to gather the information providers need, in a Trauma Informed manner, while maintaining dignity, trust and emotional safety — using conversation, empathy and participant-led communication rather than simply working through a checklist.
